Nothing like the sun : a story of Shakespeare's love-life Cover Image Book Book

Nothing like the sun : a story of Shakespeare's love-life / [by] Anthony Burgess.

Summary:

In large part it is a fiction of Shakespeare's love life, tightly pegged to historical fact. The poet-lover is haunted from his youth to his death by a dark goddess. At first, she represents the fabled East which so recently had been revealed to the Western world, and later she becomes reality as the dark lady of the sonnets--a lady dark in actual fact. It was this dark lady who opened the way to Shakespeare's tragic vision, his personal tragedies, and the bursting creativity of his last years.
